Artist reception for Susan Hove and John Jacobs March 25

The Spectrum Network will hold an opening reception for "Creative Contrast: Susan Hove and John Jacobs" on Thursday, March 25, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The reception is open to the public with no charge for admission.

Hove will exhibit original mixed media pieces that explore the interplay of shape, figure, and landscape. A self-taught artist, she finds inspiration in the work of artists Thomas Kinkade and Vincent van Gogh. Hove has recently exhibited in Decorah's Artwalk, at The Decorah Public Library and at the Oneota Community Food Co-op.

Jacobs will show new work in hard-edge collage incorporating geometric shapes and patterns. Jacobs draws from his experience in drafting and industrial arts, and combines his strong interest in nature and civilization. He is also an accomplished calligrapher and woodworker. Jacobs has recently exhibited in Artwalk, and at the Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce.

Luther College professor Kate Martinson will curate the exhibit, which will be on display through April 30. For more information, call 563-382-8401.
