Bill Sackter film screening is Feb. 28 in Cresco

A screening of "A Friend Indeed: The Bill Sackter Story" will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Cresco.

The film documents the life of Bill Sackter, who after a lifetime of institutionalization, emerged as an international hero for people with disabilities. Mickey Rooney portrayed Sackter in the 1981 made-for-TV movie "Bill." Now Iowa filmmaker Lane Wyrick has produced a documentary about the life of the real Bill Sackter in this entertaining and heartwarming feature-length documentary.
