The Spectrum Network sponsors film about Bill Sackter

The Spectrum Network will sponsor several screenings of the film "A Friend Indeed: The Bill Sackter Story" in local communities over the next year. The movie documents the inspiring life of Bill Sackter, who left a lifetime of institutionalization to emerge as an international hero for people with disabilities.  Mickey Rooney portrayed Sackter in the 1981 made-for-TV movie "Bill." Now Iowa filmmaker Lane Wyrick gives viewers the opportunity to know the real Bill Sackter in this entertaining and heartwarming feature-length documentary.  

The film was screened at Luther College in October, and will be shown again at 6:30 pm on Thursday, November 19, at Carrie Lee Elementary School auditorium in Decorah. Additional dates and times will be posted on The Spectrum Network's events calendar.
