Annual banquet Nov. 10

The Spectrum Network will hold its annual banquet and 35th anniversary celebration at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, in the Hotel Winneshiek Ballroom in Decorah.

In addition to a "social hour" and dinner, the evening will feature a silent auction of treasures such as a tablecloth finely crafted by board member Betty Schmitt, a basket of harvest preserves, and many other unique "finds."

Guest speaker Tom Walz will tell the story of Bill Sackter, a man who after 44 years of being institutionalized for a disability, found his way into the world again. Tom Walz teaches in the School of Social Work at the University of Iowa and is author of The Unlikely Celebrity: Bill Sackter's Triumph over Disability.
