ReCompute to introduce technology training
The Spectrum Network's ReCompute program will shift its focus from recycling to technology training.According to Executive Director Toni Smith, the change will benefit Spectrum clients. "Electronics recycling has been a great training venue for our clients. We're now taking ReCompute to the next level by helping individuals build their computer skills. This will widen the door to employment opportunities, and improve access to resources such as the Internet and e-mail," said Smith.
Beginning April 1, The Spectrum Network will no longer collect used electronics for recycling. Residents may instead take their used computers, printers and other items to the recycling centers in Freeport and Cresco, or to the Winneshiek and Howard County landfills.
